How it is calculated

Banks can spread a single-payment purchase or the statement balance, or defer it, for interest. These count toward the BDDK card instalment limit: in general no more than 12 months, never beyond the purchase’s sector limit, and purchases barred from instalments cannot be spread later either.

FormulaTaksit = Tutar × r′ ÷ (1 − (1 + r′)^−n), r′ = r × (1 + KKDF + BSMV)r: the card’s monthly rate; empty means the CBRT maximum (under ₺30,000 3.25%, up to ₺180,000 3.75%, above 4.25%) · card interest carries KKDF 15% and BSMV 15%.

Example

Spreading ₺30,000 over 6 instalments at the 3.75% monthly maximum with 15% KKDF and BSMV gives ₺5,886.92 a month, ₺35,321.51 in total.

Frequently asked questions

Over how many instalments can I spread card debt?

Personal cards: in general 12 instalments, within the purchase’s sector limit. BDDK sometimes allows longer restructuring of unpaid card debt, with a fixed application window.

Is an instalment plan cheaper than paying the minimum?

The rate is usually the same; the difference is that fixed instalments clear the debt in a set time. With the minimum, the unpaid part is charged again every month and the debt lasts longer.
