How it is calculated

Restructuring re-spreads the remaining debt over a new rate and term. A longer term lowers the payment but usually raises the total cost, as interest runs for longer. BDDK’s term limits by amount also apply when a personal loan is restructured.

FormulaYeni taksit = K × r′ ÷ (1 − (1 + r′)^−n); Ek maliyet = Yeni taksit × n − Eski taksit × kalan taksitK: remaining principal · r: new monthly rate · n: new term · r′ = r × (1 + KKDF + BSMV); personal and car loans: KKDF 15%, BSMV 15%.

Example

Restructuring ₺180,000 at 3.49% a month over 48 months (KKDF and BSMV at 15% each) gives a new payment of ₺9,268.23 and ₺444,874.97 in total. Against the old plan of 30 × ₺9,500 = ₺285,000 the payment falls by ₺231.77, but you pay ₺159,874.97 more overall.

Frequently asked questions

Over how many months can a personal loan be restructured?

BDDK applies the personal loan term limits to restructuring too: up to ₺125,000, 36 months; up to ₺250,000, 24 months; above that, 12 months. Time-limited BDDK decisions can allow longer terms for loans in arrears.

Is restructuring always more expensive?

No. If the new rate is clearly lower and the term does not stretch much, the total can fall. Enter your current payment and the payments left to see the difference.
