Annual CPI inflation: TÜİK
How it is calculated
The consumer price index measures the average change in the prices of what households buy; TÜİK publishes it on the 3rd of each month. From 2026 TÜİK moved to a 2025=100 base, which leaves inflation rates unchanged. The 2003–2004 months are rescaled from the 2003=100 series by TÜİK’s published method.
Karşılık = Tutar × TÜFE(bitiş) ÷ TÜFE(başlangıç)CPI: TÜİK general index (2025=100). Average yearly rate = (CPI ratio)^(12 ÷ months) − 1. In the latest month annual CPI inflation was 29.73%.Example
A basket costing ₺1,000 in September 2016 cost ₺15,475.77 in September 2026 by the CPI: prices rose 15.48-fold in ten years, 31.51% a year on average.
Frequently asked questions
When is the inflation data updated?
TÜİK releases the previous month’s CPI on the 3rd at 10:00; this page updates from TÜİK’s data portal the same day.
Why does it start in 2003?
Before 2003 the CPI used other bases (1994=100, 1987=100) and TÜİK has published no official link to the 2003=100 series, so rather than build an unofficial chain we start in 2003.
Can my own inflation differ from the CPI?
Yes. The CPI tracks an average household’s basket; if rent, food or transport weigh differently in your spending, your inflation differs.
