TYT Net and Score Calculator
Enter your correct and wrong answers in the four TYT tests. Your nets follow the 2026-YKS guide exactly; your standard scores and weighted TYT score (A-TYT) are an estimate with the test statistics ÖSYM published for 2026-YKS.

How it is calculated
The Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) is the first YKS session and takes 165 minutes (2026-YKS guide, 3.4). It has Turkish 40, Social Sciences 20, Basic Mathematics 40 and Science 20 questions (Table 1B). The TYT score alone is used for associate-degree placement, and as part of the weighted score in the bachelor’s scores (SAY, EA, SÖZ, DİL) (Table 1E’s TYT column, 0.40); the guide does not say which TYT quantity that column applies to, and the YKS calculator assumes it applies to A-TYT (0.40 × A-TYT). The nets are exact. The standard scores use the final-year students’ test means in the “Sayısal Bilgiler” (statistics) document ÖSYM publishes with the results (2026-YKS, 21 Jul 2026); a new exam has different means, so the result is an estimate. The conversion of A-TYT to the 100–500 scale is not published, so no TYT score is computed here. There is no fixed points requirement for choosing programmes: by the guide’s Table 1F (p. 49) associate-degree programmes only need a computed TYT score, and a TYT score is computed for everyone with a raw score of 0.5 in Turkish or Basic Mathematics (Table 1D). For the field scores use the YKS calculator.
Net = C − W ÷ 4 · Standard score = 50 + 10 × (net − mean) ÷ SD · A-TYT = 0.33 × SS(Turkish) + 0.17 × SS(Social) + 0.33 × SS(Basic Mathematics) + 0.17 × SS(Science)C is the number of correct, W of wrong answers; blanks do not count. The mean and SD are those of the final-year secondary-school candidates’ nets in the test (guide 3.10.1). 2026-YKS values (mean / SD): Turkish 20.5 / 8.4, Social Sciences 10.2 / 3.9, Basic Mathematics 6.8 / 8, Science 4.3 / 5.3.- In each test a quarter of the wrong answers is taken from the correct ones: the net (raw score).
- A TYT score is computed for candidates with a raw score of at least 0.5 in Turkish or Basic Mathematics (Table 1D).
- Each net becomes a standard score with mean 50 and SD 10, using the final-year students’ mean and SD; the 2026-YKS values are used here, so the result is an estimate.
- The standard scores are added with the weights of Table 1C: A-TYT.
- ÖSYM turns A-TYT into the TYT score on the 100–500 scale; the details are not published, so the page stops at A-TYT. For the placement score (Y-TYT), OBP × 0.12 is added.
Example
Turkish 30 correct, 6 wrong: net 30 − 6 ÷ 4 = 28.5; blank 40 − 30 − 6 = 4. Basic Mathematics 25 correct, 8 wrong: net 25 − 8 ÷ 4 = 23.
Frequently asked questions
What is the TYT threshold?
There is no fixed points threshold. A raw score of at least 0.5 in Turkish or Basic Mathematics is enough for a TYT score (2026-YKS guide, 3.10.1, Table 1D). Choosing associate-degree programmes requires a computed TYT score (Table 1F, p. 49).
Do four wrong answers cancel one correct answer in the TYT?
Yes. In each test a quarter of the wrong answers is subtracted from the correct ones; blanks do not affect the net.
How many points is a TYT net worth?
There is no fixed answer: the net becomes a standard score with that year’s final-year students’ mean and SD, and the A-TYT to 100–500 conversion is not published. Net-to-score coefficients online are not ÖSYM values.
Which TYT test counts most?
Table 1C weights: Turkish 0.33, Basic Mathematics 0.33, Social Sciences 0.17, Science 0.17. The weight applies to the standard score, so a net’s effect also depends on the test’s SD: in a test with a small SD one net is worth more standard-score points.
