How it is calculated

Businesses use spot or revolving loans for short-term cash needs and instalment loans for investment. With spot and revolving loans the principal does not fall during the term, so total interest is higher than on an instalment loan of the same term, but the monthly cash outflow is lower.

FormulaTaksitli: A × r′ ÷ (1 − (1 + r′)^−n) · Rotatif: her ay A × r′, sonda A · Spot: A × (1 + r′ × n)A: loan amount · r: monthly rate · n: term in months · r′ = r × (1 + BSMV); BSMV on Turkish lira business loans is 5%.
  1. Instalment loan: principal and interest in equal monthly payments.
  2. Revolving loan: only interest (and BSMV) each month; the principal is repaid or rolled over at the end.
  3. Spot loan: simple interest, paid with the principal in one go at maturity.

Example

For ₺1,000,000 at 3.25% a month over 12 months (BSMV 5%): instalment ₺102,951.76 a month; revolving ₺34,125.00 interest a month and the principal at the end; spot ₺1,409,500.00 at maturity.

Frequently asked questions

What is a revolving (rotatif) loan?

A business credit line used within a limit: interest is paid monthly and the principal is repaid or rolled over at the end. The calculator assumes the whole limit is drawn for the full term.

How is interest worked out on a spot loan?

Banks usually charge simple interest on spot loans by days: principal × monthly rate × months. The calculator uses whole months; a day-count basis may differ slightly.
