Steps
How it is calculated
E-notice is compulsory (Law 7201 Art. 7/a/1) for: the public administrations in schedules (I)–(IV) of Law 5018 and their revolving-fund units; local authorities; other public bodies, funds and guarantee funds set up by special law; state economic enterprises and their subsidiaries; companies more than half publicly owned; public professional bodies; all private-law legal persons, including those set up by law (companies, associations, foundations); notaries; lawyers on a bar roll; registered mediators and court experts; and the units that public bodies’ legal representatives belong to. Anyone else may ask for an e-notice address, and notices to them must then be electronic (Art. 7/a/2). The tax administration’s e-notice is compulsory for corporate taxpayers, income taxpayers taxed on actual business, farming or professional income, general and ordinary limited partnerships, and first registrants of vehicles in SCT list (II) (Tax Procedure Law Art. 107/A/1). The UETS 5th-day rule was already in the original Art. 7/a added by Law 6099 and has applied since 19 Jan 2012; the tool does not compute earlier arrival dates. The original Art. 107/A of the Tax Procedure Law (Law 6009) had no 5th-day rule; Law 6637 Art. 5 added it, in force since 7 Apr 2015 (GİB e-notices started on 1 January 2016, Tax Procedure Law General Communiqué No. 456), and Law 7587 kept it in the text in force from 1 July 2026. The tool does not compute earlier tax e-notice arrival dates. The rule is fixed by law and checked yearly.
Service = arrival date + 5 days (end of day); last day = service + period (under HMK/İYUK/CMK rules)A UETS notice counts as served at the end of day 5 after it reaches the recipient’s e-address (Law 7201 Art. 7/a; E-Notice Regulation Art. 9/6). A GİB (tax) e-notice is likewise served at the end of day 5 after it is delivered (Tax Procedure Law Art. 107/A). Holidays do not extend these five days, and opening the notice earlier changes nothing. The deadline runs from the service day: in day periods that day is not counted, week and month periods end on the corresponding day; a last day on a holiday moves to the next working day and a deadline ending in the judicial recess is extended.- Choose whether the notice came via UETS or GİB.
- Enter the date it reached the e-address.
- Choose the deadline that then runs (or only see the service date).
- The tool works out the service date, then the deadline’s last day.
Example
A decision reached the UETS address on Friday 23 October 2026: it is served at the end of Wednesday 28 October 2026. The two-week istinaf period (HMK Art. 345) ends on Wednesday 11 November 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Does opening the e-notice early change the service date?
No. The law attaches no effect to opening it: the notice is served at the end of the 5th day after it reaches the e-address (Law 7201 Art. 7/a), whether you open it on day one or never.
What if the 5th day is a holiday?
The service date does not change: the five days mark when service is deemed made, not a period to act in. The holiday rule applies to the last day of the deadline that follows.
Who must receive e-notices?
Public bodies, municipalities, state enterprises, professional bodies, all companies and other private-law legal persons, notaries, lawyers, registered mediators and experts (Law 7201 Art. 7/a/1). For tax e-notices, corporate taxpayers and income taxpayers on actual-basis business income (Tax Procedure Law Art. 107/A).
