KPSS Net and Score Calculator
Enter your correct and wrong answers in General Ability, General Culture and, if you took them, the Field Knowledge tests: your nets follow the 2026 KPSS guides exactly, and your standard scores and KPSS P1–P3 (P4–P48 for group A) weighted standard scores are estimated with ÖSYM’s method and the 2026-KPSS Lisans statistics.
- General Ability net (42 correct, 10 wrong, 8 blank)39.50
- General Culture net (36 correct, 12 wrong, 12 blank)33.00
- General Ability standard score (with 2026-KPSS Lisans statistics)72.633
- General Culture standard score (with 2026-KPSS Lisans statistics)60.635

How it is calculated
The Public Personnel Selection Exam (KPSS) is held by ÖSYM separately for each education level: in 2026 the Bachelor’s General Ability-General Culture session was on 6 Sept 2026, the associate-level exam on 4 Oct 2026 and the secondary-level exam on 25 Oct 2026. Every level has General Ability and General Culture tests; at Bachelor’s level, optional Field Knowledge tests (Law, Economics, Business, Public Finance, Accounting, Labour Economics, Statistics, Public Administration, International Relations) are given for group-A posts. Scoring is in section 3.10 of the guides: the nets become standard scores with the session’s mean and SD, the weights in Table 2 give the weighted standard score (ASP), and the ASPs are turned into the KPSS score out of 100 with the mean (X), SD (S) and maximum (B) of the ASP distribution. Group-B posts use KPSSP3 at Bachelor’s level, KPSSP93 at associate level and KPSSP94 at secondary level; a group-A notice states the score type it uses. ÖSYM published each test’s mean and SD for 2026-KPSS Lisans on 7 Oct 2026; this page computes standard scores and ASPs with them. The 2026 associate and secondary levels will be added when their statistics are published; until then they show nets only. X, S and B were not published for the 2026 session (ÖSYM last gave them in its 2010 KPSS score-calculation documents), so the KPSS score out of 100 is not computed. The formula does fix this much: an ASP half an SD above the session mean gets 70, the top ASP gets 100. The 2026 KPSS Bachelor’s guide has no Educational Sciences test and no KPSS P10 score type: teacher candidates take ÖSYM’s MEB Academy Entrance Exam (MEB-AGS).
Net = C − W ÷ 4 · Standard score = 50 + 10 × (net − mean) ÷ SD · ASP (P3) = 0.50 × SS(GA) + 0.50 × SS(GC) · KPSS score = 70 + 30 × [2(ASP − X) − S] ÷ [2(B − X) − S]C is the number of correct, W of wrong answers; blanks do not count. The 2026 guide does not state the standard-score scale; the mean 50, SD 10 scale comes from ÖSYM’s 2010 KPSS score-calculation documents (KPSSP94 and KPSSP10). The KPSS score out of 100 does not depend on it, because the last step uses the ASP distribution’s own mean and SD. The mean and SD are those of the nets of the candidates who took that test in the session and have at least 1 net. ASP is the weighted standard score; X, S and B are the mean, SD and maximum of all ASPs in that session. P1 weighs General Ability 0.70 and General Culture 0.30, P2 0.60 and 0.40; at associate level P93 and at secondary level P94 weigh the two tests equally.- In each test, a quarter of the wrong answers is taken from the correct ones: the net (raw score). General Ability and General Culture have 60 questions each, the Field Knowledge tests 40 each.
- A test with a net below 1 gets no standard score, and no score type that uses it is computed.
- Each net becomes a standard score using the session’s test mean and SD. The 2026-KPSS Lisans statistics are used: General Ability mean 19.439, SD 8.863; General Culture mean 20.077, SD 12.151.
- The standard scores are added with the weights in Table 2: the weighted standard score (ASP). The group-A score types (P4–P48) include the Field Knowledge tests as well.
- ÖSYM turns each score type’s ASPs into the KPSS score out of 100 with the session’s X, S and B. These were not published for the 2026 session, so the last step cannot be done; the page stops at the ASP. (ÖSYM gave them for 2010 KPSS in its score-calculation documents, e.g. for KPSSP94 X 50.000, S 8.754, B 86.960.)
Example
General Ability 42 correct, 10 wrong: net 42 − 10 ÷ 4 = 39.5. General Culture 36 correct, 12 wrong: net 36 − 3 = 33. With the 2026-KPSS Bachelor’s statistics the General Ability standard score is 50 + 10 × (39.5 − 19.439) ÷ 8.863 = 72.633 and General Culture 50 + 10 × (33 − 20.077) ÷ 12.151 = 60.635. The P3 ASP is 0.50 × 72.633 + 0.50 × 60.635 = 66.634; P1 69.034; P2 67.834.
Frequently asked questions
How many wrong answers cancel a correct one in KPSS?
Four. In each test, a quarter of the wrong answers is subtracted from the correct ones; blanks do not affect the net (2026 KPSS guides, 3.10).
What is the difference between KPSS P1, P2 and P3?
All three come from the General Ability and General Culture standard scores with different weights: P1 0.70 + 0.30, P2 0.60 + 0.40, P3 0.50 + 0.50 (guide Table 2). Group-B Bachelor’s posts use P3; the institution’s notice states which score type applies.
How many points is a given net worth?
There is no fixed answer. The KPSS score depends on where your net stands among all candidates’ nets in the session, and the ASP mean, SD and maximum the last step needs were not published for the 2026 session. The net-to-score tables and coefficients online are not values ÖSYM publishes.
Is KPSS P10 still used for teaching?
No. Table 2 of the 2026 KPSS Bachelor’s guide has neither P10 nor an Educational Sciences test. Teacher candidates enter the National Education Academy through ÖSYM’s MEB Academy Entrance Exam (AGS and ÖABT); use the AGS score page for that.
How long is a KPSS result valid?
2026-KPSS results are valid for two years from the announcement; if no new exam is held in that time, they stay valid until the next exam’s results (Bachelor’s guide 1.11). For those who took the associate or secondary level and then the KPSS group-B Bachelor’s exam, the earlier result lapses when the Bachelor’s result is announced (1.12).
