How it is calculated
The Disabled Public Personnel Selection Exam (EKPSS) is ÖSYM’s exam for disabled candidates, used by public institutions to recruit disabled civil servants and workers and by MEB to recruit disabled teachers. 2026-EKPSS was held in a single session on 19 Apr 2026; results were announced on 14 May 2026 and are valid for 4 years from the exam date (guide 1.6). The exam has 60 questions in 60 minutes, with booklets by education level; general, visually impaired and candidates who became hearing impaired after primary-school starting age share a booklet with the same content, while those hearing impaired before that age (Hearing-1) and intellectually disabled candidates have their own booklets (3.1). Extra time and other arrangements differ by disability group (1.2, 3.1). Scoring is in section 3.10: the nets become standard scores, General Ability and General Culture are added with equal weights, and the weighted scores are scaled so that the lowest gets 40 and the highest 100. So your EKPSS score is set against the lowest and highest scores in that exam. ÖSYM publishes only placement statistics for EKPSS, not the exam’s test means and SDs, so this page gives no score estimate, only exact nets.
Net = C − W ÷ 4 · Standard score = 50 + 10 × (net − mean) ÷ SD · Weighted score = 0.50 × SS(GA) + 0.50 × SS(GC) · EKPSS score: lowest weighted score 40, highest 100C is the number of correct, W of wrong answers; blanks do not count. The mean and SD are those of the nets of candidates with at least one answer in that test. All three score types use the same two tests and weights; they differ by the candidate’s education level (EKPSSP1 secondary, EKPSSP2 associate, EKPSSP3 Bachelor’s).- In each test, a quarter of the wrong answers is taken from the correct ones: the net (raw score). The General Ability (Turkish and Mathematics) and General Culture tests have 30 questions each.
- Each net becomes a standard score with mean 50 and SD 10 using that exam’s test mean and SD.
- The two standard scores are added with equal weights: the weighted score.
- The weighted scores are scaled so that the exam’s lowest gets 40 and its highest 100. ÖSYM publishes neither the EKPSS test statistics nor these extremes, so nothing after step 2 can be done here.
Example
General Ability 21 correct, 4 wrong: net 21 − 4 ÷ 4 = 20. General Culture 18 correct, 6 wrong: net 18 − 1.5 = 16.5. Total net 36.5. The score depends on all candidates’ nets in that exam, so it cannot be derived from the net alone.
Frequently asked questions
Do wrong answers cost points in EKPSS?
Yes. In each test, a quarter of the wrong answers is subtracted from the correct ones; four wrong answers cancel one correct answer (2026-EKPSS guide, 3.10).
What is the difference between EKPSSP1, P2 and P3?
The calculation is the same: General Ability and General Culture are added with weight 0.50 each. EKPSSP1 is computed for secondary, EKPSSP2 for associate and EKPSSP3 for Bachelor’s-level candidates; the booklets differ by education level too.
What is the lowest EKPSS score?
The weighted scores are scaled so the lowest gets 40 and the highest 100, so scores lie in that range: the exam’s lowest weighted score gets 40, the highest 100.
How long is an EKPSS result valid?
4 years from the exam date (guide 1.6). Registration for placement by lot is taken every two years.
