İYÖS Score Calculator
Enter your correct answers in the İdari Yargı Ön Sınavı (İYÖS, Türkiye’s administrative judiciary preliminary exam): your raw score follows exactly. The score itself uses the formula in the Ministry of Justice notice with the session’s raw-score mean, standard deviation and maximum; enter them if you know them.
- Raw score (correct answers)90

How it is calculated
The İYÖS is one of the two preliminary exams of additional article 41 of Higher Education Law No. 2547: graduates other than lawyers apply to the administrative court assistant judge exam with an İYÖS pass, law graduates with an HMGS pass. The preliminary-exam requirement applies to those who enrolled in higher education after 24 October 2019 and graduated after 31 March 2024 (Law 2547, provisional art. 80; Regulation art. 2). It is open to graduates of at least four-year programmes in political science, public administration, economics and public finance that give enough room to law, or of equivalent foreign schools; under the guide, applicants whose only degree code is law (3209) are blocked by the system. The law asks for the exam at least once every two years; the Regulation sets it once a year in September (art. 6). It has at least 120 questions and 70 out of 100 is a pass. Since the 2026-HMGS/2, 2026-İYÖS sessions, the score uses the mean, standard deviation and maximum of the raw scores; ÖSYM does not publish these values, so the tool gives the raw score exactly and applies the formula if you enter them.
Raw score (HP) = correct answers · Score = 70 + 30 × [7 × (HP − X) − S] ÷ [7 × (B − X) − S]HP is the candidate’s number of correct answers; wrong and blank answers do not count. X is all candidates’ mean raw score, S the standard deviation of raw scores, B the highest raw score. The highest raw score gets 100, a raw score of X + S ÷ 7 exactly 70.- The exam has 120 questions and lasts 155 minutes. Your correct answers are your raw score.
- ÖSYM works out X, S and B from the candidates’ raw scores.
- The formula turns the raw score into a score out of 100; 70 or more is a pass.
Example
Take hypothetical session values X = 80, S = 12, B = 115. With 90 correct: 70 + 30 × (7 × 10 − 12) ÷ (7 × 35 − 12) = 77.468. The raw score for the mark is 80 + 12 ÷ 7 = 81.71, so at least 82 correct.
Frequently asked questions
Do wrong answers cancel correct ones in the İYÖS?
No. Only correct answers are counted and wrong answers are ignored. The raw score is the number of correct answers.
Can law graduates sit the İYÖS?
Under the guide, applicants whose only degree code is 3209 (Law) are blocked from the İYÖS; law graduates use their HMGS result for the administrative courts. Non-law appointees may be at most twenty per cent of the assistant judges taken in each round (Law 2802, art. 8).
How many correct answers does 70 need in the İYÖS?
There is no fixed number: in the formula a raw score of X + S ÷ 7 gets exactly 70. As the session’s mean and SD change, so does the number needed.
How long is an İYÖS result valid?
Neither additional article 41 nor the Regulation sets a validity period for a pass. The result document is valid for candidates who met article 5 of the Regulation on the exam date.
