Net to Gross Salary Calculator

Enter the net pay you want to take home and see the gross it takes, the deductions and the cost to the employer. Because the tax bracket rises during the year, the gross needed for the same net changes from month to month; the table shows every month.

Income tax follows the base built up since January, so the net changes from month to month.

Year

The year-to-date income tax base on your payslip, before this month. Leave it empty to assume the same pay since January.

For an employee with an approved disability report, an allowance comes off the tax base every month.

The part of the employer share the Treasury pays. Not for public employers, or employers with premium debt or late filings.

How it is calculated

Net to gross is used for job offers and net-pay agreements. With the net fixed, the gross the employer must pay and the total cost rise as the tax bracket goes up during the year, and they move when the minimum wage exemption changes. So a “₺40,000 net” agreement costs more over the year than 12 times January’s gross.

FormulaBrüt, Net(Brüt) = istenen net olacak şekilde aranır; Net = Brüt − SGK − İşsizlik − Gelir vergisi − Damga vergisiThe deductions are the same as gross to net: 9% pension and 5% health premiums, 1% unemployment premium, income tax on the cumulative tariff less the minimum wage exemption, and stamp duty at 7.59 per mille. With brackets and a monthly exemption no single ratio gives the gross; it is searched until the net matches to the kuruş.
  1. Guess a gross and work out its net for this month.
  2. If the net is short, raise the gross; if it is over, lower it; halve the search range each time.
  3. Stop when the net matches the target to the kuruş.
  4. For the next month, add this month’s tax base to the year-to-date total and search again.

Example

In January 2026, ₺40,000 net takes ₺49,709.72 gross: ₺6,959.36 social security, ₺497.10 unemployment premium, ₺2,126.66 income tax and ₺126.60 stamp duty come off. The employer pays ₺60,521.58 in all. The year-to-date base enters the 20% bracket in May, so the same net needs ₺51,291.06 gross that month and ₺55,692.02 in December.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the gross change each month on a net-pay agreement?

Income tax applies to the base built up since January. When the year-to-date base passes ₺190,000 and then ₺400,000, the rate goes up, and the employer must raise the gross to keep the net the same. The table lists the gross needed for each month.

Is there a simple ratio from net to gross?

No. The minimum wage exemption takes off a fixed amount each month, brackets build up through the year and no premiums are due above the ceiling, so the ratio between net and gross depends on the pay and the month. The exact gross can only be found by trial; this calculator does it to the kuruş.

Can net pay be below the minimum wage net?

Full-time gross pay cannot be below the minimum wage (₺33,030.00), so net pay cannot be below the minimum wage net (₺28,075.50) either. The calculator warns if you enter less.

How is the cost to the employer worked out?

Employer premiums are added to gross: 12% pension, 2.25% short-term insurance, 7.5% health and 2% unemployment. For private employers the Treasury pays 2 points of the pension share (5 in manufacturing), which comes off the cost.
