How it is calculated

This calculator shows the whole year’s payroll rather than one month: which month you enter which tax bracket, how your net changes and what you cost your employer in total. On a gross agreement the net falls during the year; on a net agreement the gross and the employer’s cost rise. For one month’s deductions in detail, use the gross to net or net to gross calculator.

FormulaYıllık net = Σ (Brüt − SGK − İşsizlik − GV − DV); Yıllık işveren maliyeti = Σ (Brüt + İşveren SGK + İşveren işsizlik − Hazine indirimi)The employee pays 9% pension, 5% health and 1% unemployment premiums; the employer pays 12% pension, 2.25% short-term insurance, 7.5% health and 2% unemployment. Premiums stop at ₺297,270.00. The Treasury discount is 2 points for private employers, 5 in manufacturing. Tax wedge = (employer cost − net) ÷ employer cost.
  1. Set each month’s pay; with a raise, use the raised amount from the raise month on.
  2. With gross pay, run each month’s payroll from January; with net pay, find the gross that gives that net using the month’s year-to-date base.
  3. Add each month’s tax base to the year-to-date total; the next month is taxed on top of it.
  4. Add up gross, premiums, tax, net and employer cost over the 12 months.

Example

At ₺50,000 gross for January–June and ₺60,000 after a 20% raise in July, 2026 pay comes to ₺660,000. Over the year ₺99,000 in premiums, ₺56,088.77 income tax and ₺2,001 stamp duty come off, leaving ₺502,910.23 net. The employer (private, not manufacturing) pays ₺803,550 in all, 37.4% of it in tax and premiums.

Frequently asked questions

How is yearly net pay worked out?

Each month’s net is worked out separately and added up, because income tax follows the base built up since January: the 20% bracket starts once the year-to-date base passes ₺190,000, and 27% above ₺400,000. So above the minimum wage, yearly net is usually less than 12 times January’s.

How does a mid-year raise change my tax?

From the raise month on, your base builds up faster and you reach higher brackets sooner, so not all of the raise reaches your net: the raised pay is taxed at that month’s bracket. Enter the raise and its month to see every month’s net in the table.

What does an employee cost the employer?

On top of gross pay the employer pays 12% pension, 2.25% short-term insurance, 7.5% health and 2% unemployment premiums on the premium base; for private employers the Treasury covers 2 points of that (5 in manufacturing). Enter the gross minimum wage, ₺33,030.00, to see what a minimum-wage employee costs.

What is the tax wedge?

It shows how much of what the employer pays goes to the state as tax and premiums instead of reaching the employee: (employer cost − net) ÷ employer cost. It rises with pay because of the brackets, while premiums take a smaller share above the social security ceiling.

Does it work for working pensioners?

No. Working pensioners pay the social security support premium at different rates. This calculator is for an employee insured under 4/a who is not retired and works the full month.
