How it is calculated
Buying back lets you pay premiums later for certain periods when you were not insured and count them towards your pension (Law 5510 Art. 41; Law 3201 for time abroad). Law 7566 raised the rate for everything except maternity from 32% to 45% from 1 January 2026; maternity stays at 32%. The floor and ceiling rise with the minimum wage each January, so the same days cost more every year. Buying a period before your first insurance moves your insurance start back, which can change your pension conditions.

The rate is 32% for maternity, 45% for military service and the other Art. 41 periods, 45% for time abroad, and 39% for part-time gaps whose health premium was already paid.- Count the period in days: SGK treats a month as 30 days and a year as 360.
- Pick a daily base between the floor and the ceiling. It feeds into your pension for those days.
- Multiply the daily base by the rate for that kind of period to get the cost per day.
- Multiply by the days and pay the notified amount in one go before the deadline.
Example
In 2026, buying 12 months (360 days) of military service on the lowest base costs ₺1,101 × 45% = ₺495.45 a day, ₺178,362 in all; on the highest base, ₺1,605,258. Buying 720 days for one birth on the floor costs ₺352.32 × 720 = ₺253,670.40.

How much does buying military service cost?
It is 45% of the daily base. In 2026 the lowest cost per day is ₺495.45 (on ₺1,101.00), so 12 months (360 days) costs ₺178,362. Service as a private, NCO, or in reserve officer or reserve NCO school can be bought.
How many days of maternity can be bought?
Up to 720 days after each birth, for at most 3 births. The child must be alive and you must not have been insured on those days. Women insured under 4/a, 4/b or 4/c can apply; the rate is 32%.
Can the cost be paid in instalments?
No. Art. 41 borrowing must be paid in full within one month of notice, borrowing for time abroad within 3 months. If it is not paid on time it lapses and you must apply again, at the new floor if it has risen.
Is a higher daily base worth it?
The base you pick feeds into the pension for those days. The floor keeps the cost lowest; a higher base raises the pension somewhat but the cost rises in step. If the aim is only to fill missing days, most people choose the floor.
